"Sex-Related Discrepancies of N95 Mask Fit"
With the rise of COVID-19 and prevalent medical cases, all populations have been employing N95 masks as a staple article to combat its spread. Dr. Saralyn Mark, founder of iGIANT, pushed an effort to raise awareness on the link between anthropometry, facial structures, and the fit of personal protective equipment (PPE) by co-authoring a scientific paper of findings (entitled The PPE Pandemic: Sex-Related Discrepancies of N95 Mask Fit). By pinpointing gendered disparities on anatomical makeup, along with the improper usage — and, in turn, a lack of intended protection — these reports cover the full scope of equipment models versus its effects on diverse groups.
