New Human Embryo-Like Models from Stem Cells for Research
With the use of pluripotent stem cells, Cambridge scientists have created human embyro-like models to model embryonic development during the second week of pregnancy, a critical period associated with pregnancy loss. With this new tool, scientists can begin to research more into various genetic disorders, early pregnancy loss, and origins of organs and specialized cells without relying on human embryos in research.
